I grew up thinking that being a Christian meant that you go to church every Sunday and you had to be good on Sundays, but from Monday through to Saturday it didn’t matter what you did.

I would go to church on Sunday but would not even think about church during the week.

When I went to High school I had some friends who attended church and they behaved the same way everyday it didn’t matter if they were at church or not. This was new to me; they were actually being ‘good’ every day of the week. These same friends invited me along to a church Youth weekend away-this is the weekend that changed my life.

There was a preacher who spoke of God’s love for the world and for me personally. I didn’t know that God loved me so much that he sent his only Son to die for me. The preacher then said that even if I was the only person on earth, God would still send his Son to die for me because he loved me. What amazing love! This message challenged me about what sin is and my sin so much I became a Christian that same night.

A verse in the Bible that sums this up is 1 John 4:10:

"This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

God sent Jesus for you too, I challenge you to think on this.
