If you haven’t been to church before, or perhaps not for a long time, you might be wondering: “What actually happens?”

First of all, relax. You won’t be asked to do anything! You also don’t have to be a Christian – we welcome people from all faiths and walks of life.

When you arrive, our welcome stewards will hand you a service sheet — we use these instead of a hymn book. You can then find a seat in the main hall. There’s also a coloured sheet with information about church activities and events in the coming weeks.

A typical service will contain Christian songs, a short talk for children, a prayer and then a message based on the Bible, usually from our Pastor. We have Bibles for you to use so that you can follow the talks more easily.

After the service, we serve tea and coffee — a chance to chat and get to know each other.

If you have any more questions about what goes on in our services, please do contact us at the church office, or send an e-mail to: office@ebcleeds.org.uk
