Studying in Leeds?

Over the years we have been blessed and encouraged by the Students and Young Adults who have worshipped with us. If you come to Emmanuel we can assure you of a warm welcome. We’d like to encourage you to become part of our church family during your time in Leeds. There are opportunities for you to get involved in any of our church ministries, whether you want to serve with children’s work, music, sound or evangelism.

After the Sunday morning service, we invite our students to join us for lunch at various venues – it’s a great opportunity to get to know other students better and meet members of the church. Once a month these lunches are held at Horsforth (See Young Adults Fellowship). We also hold a Student Bible Study on Wednesdays during term time at Emmanuel from 5.45-7.00pm and each week we provide a hot meal.

Our Student Co-ordinator this year is Jonathan Cannon. Feel free to e-mail him via if you want to know more about Emmanuel or just phone the church office 0113 259 1283.

We encourage all students to get involved with the Christian Union at their university, University of Leeds Christian Union or Leeds Metropolitan University Christian Union.

Also for students...

Students are very welcome at our Young Adults Fellowship which meets once a month for a good lunch and discussion.

Students are also welcome to join one of our Growth Groups for prayer and Bible study, though we recognise that many students prefer to get involved with cell groups in halls of residence, etc. So there’s no pressure to join a church group as well… just the opportunity if you want to!
