Welcome to the giving section of the Emmanuel website.

Biblical Principles of Giving

At Emmanuel we do not hold collections during our Sunday services, apart from once a month when the collection is specifically for the Manna fund (used to help those in particular need for food or other essentials.)

Our Sunday services are open to all and we wish people to be free to attend and not to feel in any way expected to give.

However, if you are a church member or a believer who is a regular attender, then we would ask you to consider giving to support the ministries here at Emmanuel, in accordance with 2 Corinthians 9:7.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9:7

… each of you should give …

All Christians are therefore commanded to take part in this act of worship to God.

… what you have decided in your heart to give …

Consider everything God has blessed you with, and then decide a proportion to give back to God’s work in the church.

… not reluctantly or under compulsion …

It’s a challenge to our natural reluctance to give generously, whilst not feeling under pressure to do so. God is a debtor to no one.

… for God loves a cheerful giver …

Cheerfulness is key. Remember you are investing in God’s Kingdom and the growth of the gospel.
